ARGENTINE TANGO PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Argentine Tango is thought to have originated in the West Indies where it was danced only by the lowest classes. The name is from the African Tanganya. Later, the dance found its way into Argentina where it was re-created by the Gauchos in Buenos Aires. The Argentine Tango Program at La Luna teaches classes in salon style which relies upon the close embrace originally developed in the night clubs of historic Buenos Aires. This style is much different from the American Tango which is taught in both International Standard and American Smooth Ballroom dancing.
Both Group and Private Lessons are available Sundays or Thursdays using a program developed and directed by Tango Masters
CAROLINA ZOKALSKI and DIEGO DIFALCO. Please check our CLASS CALENDAR to determine which day offers times that work best for you to take Argentine Tango Group Classes. To schedule a PRIVATE LESSON, please call our main telephone number to check instructor availability. Argentine Tango Practice Sessions are held every Sunday from 5:30 PM-6:30 PM and are free for La Luna Active Members.
